The greatest thing that I have learned is that thinking is easier than doing. It’s easier to talk than walk, it’s easier to bark than bite, etc.
The disconnect between ideas and actions troubles me and everyone I know.
I have a theory that famous/successful people are the ones who actually do what they plan on doing. They are the ones that think to themselves: I NEED to become a singer, or I NEED to become a doctor, then, unlike most everyone, they DO it.
The flaw with my theory is that one could argue that these people are extraordinarily talented. Those few truly magic people aside, ( like John Lemon, Kurt Cobanes, Magic Jonston), I disagree. If I decided that I was going to drop out of school and devote EVERYTHING I had to music I think I could do it, I think that I would have a chance in the music industry.
But that’s exactly it ^^^^^
Think is the keyword, see. I’m most likely never going to find out for sure if I could become a moderately well known musician because I will probably only continue thinking about it instead of actually going all in. Can you imagine devoting your entire life to something as risky as music?!?! or entrepreneurship or something?!
A more tangible example of this theory are our local michigan high school rappers. My friend, Respectful Yung Mane and I Said we were going to make a music video. We Thought about it, Planned it, and Talked about it. You see what the issue is here? Guess what we past tense verb is missing in that list. DID
Another local rap group, “Squid Squad”, actually made a music video. It doesn’t matter if the video was even sweet or not, (it was pretty sweet), because they at least made one.
I guess the moral of the story is to walk the talk.
If you take this to heart, when you’re old and lying in your deathbed you will at least remember all the cool stuff you did. Unless you can’t remember cuz you’re old, then be sure you wrote a diary while you were doing all the cool stuff.
Actually better yet: keep doing interesting things until you are old. Idealy you should be writing a poem or something while on your deathbed.
PS- Respectful Yung Mane has made TONS of songs, just no music videos yet. this is definately NOT his soundcloud

(Also Squid Squad's video is at the top I think)
oh wait no scratch that, it's at the bottum actually
